wanakio 2003 event series

Besides the urban exhibition and the trans_academy the was a number of events taking place during the one month of the wanakio project. The events created opportunities for involved artists and staff to meet with local residents in a casual context and provide a platform for music and performing arts within the public urban context.

The following activites took place during wanakio 2003:

[ Borderless Sound ]

A music and contemporary dance collaboration project that took place in the urban public space of Nahas down town. Starting with a series of workshops performers from in and outside of Okinawa reflected the urban environment by means of sound. The live performances often included the participation of the audience

[ International Kitchen ]

A project coordinated by Tokyo based culinary artist Taro (EAT&ART)
