art work title:'Afforestation of Okinawa Cracks'
site: Naha, Noren market
concept

My project is about filling the cracks on the walls and the floors around the thre markets and an empty shop in Noren market. Photo documentary will be shown in the shop.
The plants in the project, which are made by me with paper and industrial materials, will be planted to fill the cracks and gaps of the Okinawa land. To me the impressive point of Wanakio Project is participating with a group of young people trying to bring the consciousness of the linkage between the contemporary urban life and the historical identity of Okinawa.
With the fake paper plants, it is not a real afforestation programme obviously. It reminds me that we can find artifical beach on an island like Okinawa, where beautiful beaches are all around.
